Laura Belton
Copy & Creative

I’m a freelance copywriter based in Armagh, Northern Ireland, and I globally work with creative agencies, businesses, government departments, and charities.

With a skill for clear communication and soulful storytelling, I help bring clarity and creativity to your messaging. For over a decade, I’ve worked with a diverse range of clients to help them decide what they need to say, and how to communicate it in the most effective way. I can also provide creative content, photography, and work with a team of designers and videographers to provide visual branding.

Words are powerful

Every sentence has the potential to connect with your audience and bring you one step closer to your objectives. Much like an architect carefully designs a building, copywriting is a skill that combines creativity and strategy.

Whether you want to evoke an emotional response or bring clarity to complexity, a copywriter can help you define your message and tailor it to your audience. I help businesses of all shapes and sizes do this.

How I can help you

My mission is to bring clarity & confidence to your communiations

Everyone can benefit from working with a copywriter, but it’s not always possible (or affordable) to do everything in-house. As a freelance copywriter, I am a flexible and useful extension of your team. I put the time into getting to know your brand and what you need, so that I’m ready to jump in when you need me.

Whether you need fresh website copy, a Press Release, a well-researched SEO blog post, a thought leadership article or something else entirely- I can get involved in the early planning stages of your project or simply take a brief and deliver a finished piece of work.

Happy customers

Laura has produced some great articles for the charity project Trees for Streets during our launch year. Her articles have not only helped elevate the quality of our content overall, and been well received by our growing national audience, but they've also been enjoyed by our funders, who use them as an informal way to keep up with our progress.

She has been productive, really easy to work with, and positively receptive to any feedback provided.

Copy with purpose

With a background in both visual arts and science, I have an appreciation for how words can be powerful tools in bringing life to ideas. Sometimes the purpose of your copy might be to elicit strong emotions or to entertain an audience. Other times it’s to educate, influence, or persuade. For me, the best copywriting keeps the goal, the audience, and the platform it’s being published on at the forefront. In many cases, it needs to be concise and clear to connect with busy people who have limited time and attention to read.

Copy that is strategic

Content and copywriting isn’t just about populating a website with words. It’s not about creating blogs and social media posts and hoping they do something. Anything that you write should be intentional. I can help you define your goals and create a plan that is designed to help you reach your goals, with copy that is well-researched and written to elevate your brand, while also having the correct SEO in place to achieve Google rankings.

Copy that is human

Of course you can use ChatGTP to put some words together for a blog post or your website. But there’s a reason why studies show that this sort of copy fails to hit the mark. It doesn’t have the strategic foresight or nuances that can only be elicited by a human, who is writing for other humans.
